The roof at Mount Charles House was in need of a full upgrade. Our team undertook a comprehensive re-slating, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials to ensure a durable, long-lasting, and visually appealing finish.
Scope of Works
Below is a breakdown of the work carried out by our experienced team:
Roof Strip and Preparation: The existing roof slopes were fully stripped to allow for new installation.
Breathable Membrane Installation: A modern breathable underlay was installed to enhance ventilation and protect the structure from moisture build-up.
Leadwork Detailing: High-grade Code 5 lead was fitted to all valleys, chimneys, and abutments, ensuring the roof is water-tight and durable.
Cupa Natural Slate Roofing:
We used 400mm x 250mm Cupa slates, known for their exceptional quality and aesthetic appeal.
Each slate was securely fixed with 50mm copper nails to provide long-term resistance to high winds and harsh weather.
Zinc Hips and Ridge Finish:
14” zinc hips and ridges were installed with lead caps at mitres, offering a robust, clean, and maintenance-free solution.
New Rainwater System:
The old guttering was replaced with black deepflow gutters and a fully upgraded rainwater pipe system, improving drainage performance and visual appeal.
